Question: Where should I be facing during meditation?
Answer: It is most ideal to be facing the East as it follows the motion of the earth’s movement which is eastward. One should feel more at ease and could settle the mind much faster as compared to other directions.
Another direction which is ideal too will be facing the north which aligns the body with the earth’s magnetic field.
You can also experiment with all 4 directions at different times of the day. Each direction and at different time of the day should give you a totally different experience in your meditation. Eg. Facing the sun rise at the east during morning meditation, or facing the moon direction during a full moon’s day meditation.
